Wind Generator Impedance Matching in Small-Scale Passive Wind Energy Systems

In this paper, the improved turbine power matching of passive wind energy systems for dc-connected battery storage applications with an impedance method is investigated. The system uses a direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous generator and directly connected via diode rectifier to dc fixed-voltage storage. To improve matching, external inductance added between rectifier. A static finite element based solution proposed accurately calculate necessary achieve near maximum point matching. It shown that calculation computationally efficient excellently suited design optimization, which critical application. also by rewinding existing machines correct cut-in speed adding can be effectively recycled systems. method's accuracy are confirmed measured results on sub 5 kW level.
